Rest In Peace
John Lawrence Ceaser
02.05.1948 - 08.09.2008

It is with great sadness that we inform you that John Ceaser passed away on Monday. John had fought illness for some time and passed away peacefully in Willen Hospice on Monday. John will be remembered in recent years as one of his sons greatest supporters. John was often there to support Aaron during his matches. Looking back further John was a great player in the league himself, and Aaron certainly followed in his footsteps, making him proud as the No.1 player in Milton Keynes last season. John often partnered with his sons in doubles matches and was crowned Scratch Doubles Champion with Aaron in the 95/96 season. The league most certainly won't be the same without him. I am sure I speak for everyone in the league when I offer our greatest condolences to the family at this time.

For those of you who would like to attend John's funeral, the funeral will be held at Crownhill Crematorium on Tuesday 16th September 2008 at 10.00am. Family flowers only, but donations if desired by cheque made payable to Willen Hospice may be forwarded to:

League and Tournament Sponsorship
Source: Secretary
August 21st, 2008

If you, or someone you know, would like to be a sponsor and have your name on a league or tournament trophy, then the committee would like to hear from you. Any amount of sponsorship is most welcome. This year we have lost two very valued Sponsors, Windowcraft and The Herald Sporting Club. We thank them for their many years of solid sponsorship. However this means there is no sponsorship money to take the winners of the divisional championships to the Masters at Wembley this season, so without a new sponsor this will have to be scrapped.

Please contact the Secretary or Treasurer if you are interested in sponsoring the MKCSL. Your help will be most appreciated by all.

Players looking for a team
Source: Secretary
July 10th, 2008

Players looking for a team:

There are some young players at Junior group looking to start playing in the league.
The enthusiasm provided by a young teenager in your side is a fantastic addition.
If you are in divisions 1,2 or 3 and want a new player, then I would recommend considering a junior.

If you are interested, please contact the Secretary , or maybe go along to MKSC on a Sunday morning to meet them for yourself

Players Needed for next season at Buckingham Snooker Club
Source: Martin Moors
July 8th, 2008

Dear All,

After winning the 1st Division last season I am really looking forward to playing Premier B snooker next season, but I have a problem. Three of my team cannot play next season, so unless I get two/three players willing to play from Buckingham next season then I will not be fielding a team next season.

Please can you let me know if you or anyone else you know might be interested in coming to play at Buckingham.

Benefits of Playing at Buckingham:

  • Nice quiet & friendly club.
  • Four very good quality tables, usually available anytime from 6pm onwards throughout the season.
  • Free Table On Monday Night (Just the registration fee needed).
  • Very low table rate at other times, £3-£4/hr

Check out our web site for details, www.bsc.fusiveweb.co.uk

Look forward to hearing from anyone interested.

Kind Regards
Martin

July 7th, 2008

I was recently contacted by the Stalybridge & District Sunday Schools Billiards, Snooker & Whist League who will be celebrating their 100th year of the league in two years time. Impressive stuff. Interesting to note that they play both Billiards and snooker on their league evening. Their league evening also used to contain a game of Whist! They are now added to the links section. Lets hope we can make it successfully to the 100 years mark!
