MKSC Five Steps showed no mercy to a three man Herald Hornets, C Essen
with a break of 47 taking the opening frame 75-24. D Osborne won the
second on the black, as did M Wheeley and I Richardson in the doubles.
M Wheeley easily won the third singles, and with no fourth player
the match 10-0.
Newport Blobbies beat the Royals 6-4 in a very tight match all
but one of the games being decided on the black ball. A Jenkins
holding his nerve in the last frame to win it 36-25 and take the
match.
SSCC A played two matches this week, making hard work of beating
the Spiders 6-4 on Monday and winning 6-4 on Wednesday against the
Royals, taking the first three frames to seal the win. This moves
them up the table level on points with the Royals in third place.
MKSC Allsorts had a good result against Windowcraft beating them
8-2; their only loss was in the doubles. The closest frame was the
last when B Gray beat R Harvey by two points, this result leaves
both teams level on points.
MKSC Five Steps are building up a lead at the top of the table, after
losing the first two frames against third placed Royals they sneaked
home in the doubles winning by seven points, then M Wheeley took the
next singles game on the black to level up the match, finally T Ward
wrapped up the final frame 65-21 to seal the win.
Newport Blobbies are level on points with the Royals as they lost
out 6-4 to fourth placed S.S.C.C. A in a match that was also decided
on the result of the last frame C Roberts taking it 43-29 against
N Brennen. It was a good night for the bottom two clubs, Herald
Spiders surprised MKSC Allsorts by winning the first four frames,
the closest being T Oldfield's 44-41 win against Julia Paul. A Senior
avoiding the whitewash by beating M Cockram 59-43.
In the last match in this division bottom team Herald Hornets beat
the inconsistent Windowcraft 6-4 in a very close match.CORRECTION

6-4.
MKSC Five Steps overcame a first frame defeat to beat Windowcraft
8-2 and maintain their lead at the top of the division, C Essen with
a 35 break was their POM.
Newport Blobbies are second after Herald Hornets who could not
raise a team gave them a walkover.
S.S.C.C. A and MKSC Royals are level on points after both of them
won 8-2, with the season almost at the half way stage it looks as
though these four teams will be fighting it out for promotion at
the end.
